What I Really Think About Tarot

Issue #80

The Village Grimoire

Even if you’ve never had a Tarot card reading and don’t read the cards yourself, you’ve probably heard of it. Maybe you’ve seen it in a movie or TV show, or passed by a reader at a shop or event. And if you’re on social media and have given the algorithm even the slightest hint that you’re into divination, you’ve definitely seen readers--and “readers” (there is a difference)--slangin’ cards.

You may have also heard some Tarot readers say that Tarot is not for fortune-telling or prediction. Many people approach Tarot--whether for themselves or for others--from a more psychological or insight-based perspective. I understand that approach, and I do use Tarot that way as well in my own practice at times.

However, I also use Tarot for prediction. I’m a psychic who is claircognizant, clairvoyant, clairsentient, and clairaudient, and I feel very comfortable using Tarot as a predictive tool. As I always tell my clients, my readings reflect the likely outcome based on the current path someone is on, but nothing is fixed or set in stone. Free will is always part of the equation.

As you may have read recently in The Village Grimoire, I believe everyone is born with psychic abilities. Some people naturally have their dial more turned up, but intuitive and psychic abilities can absolutely be developed over time.

One of the ways I developed my own intuitive skills and strengthened my psychic abilities was through learning Tarot. I’ve taken multiple courses, read extensively on the subject, and practiced consistently before ever offering readings to clients, so I feel confident and grounded in my work.

I’m a Gemini sun, rising, and Mercury--and if you know astrology, you know that can mean it’s borderline physically uncomfortable for me not to communicate what I know, especially if I believe it could genuinely help someone. That’s why I teach, why I mentor witches, and why I share so openly in The Village Grimoire and across social media.

This month, I’m offering a one-hour Tarot Basics: Mini Class on Zoom (live with a recorded replay available if you can’t attend live). I won’t be covering traditional card meanings in depth--that would take a hell of a lot longer than an hour--but instead I’ll be sharing foundational principles I consider essential for developing Tarot fluency and confidence.

If you’re curious about building a stronger relationship with the cards, or you’re ready to move beyond surface-level interpretations, you can click here to join Tarot Basics.

Thanks for being here at The Village Grimoire.

Issue #84 The Village Grimoire Have you ever noticed the same animal showing up repeatedly? A symbol appearing in unexpected places? A dream image that lingers long after you wake up?
