A Summer Solstice Ritual ☀️

Issue #81

The Village Grimoire

Summer Solstice arrives soon, bringing us the longest day of the year and the height of the Sun's power. It's a time of abundance, vitality, confidence, and celebration. As nature reaches its fullest expression, we're invited to recognize the growth, joy, and blessings present in our own lives.

A Simple Summer Solstice Ritual: Sun Blessing Bath

This gentle ritual is a beautiful way to honor the Sun's energy while taking a moment to rest and recharge.

You'll need:

  • A handful of calendula flowers (or a few pinches dried)
  • A small handful of dried rosemary
  • A few slices of orange or a bit of dried orange peel
  • A warm bath
  • Optional: cheesecloth or a small muslin bag

As the tub fills, add your herbs and orange. Step into the water and imagine yourself surrounded by warm golden sunlight.

(For a cleaner, easier cleanup, you can place the herbs and orange peel into a cheesecloth pouch or muslin bag before adding them to the bath. This allows the water to infuse with their energy without loose plant material floating in the tub or clogging the drain.)

As you soak, reflect on:

  • What has flourished in your life this year?
  • What strengths have carried you forward?
  • What abundance already exists around you?

Visualize the Sun's energy filling every part of you with warmth, confidence, joy, and vitality.

When you're ready, place your hands over your heart and say:

"I welcome the blessings of the Sun. May its light nourish my spirit, strengthen my resolve, and illuminate the path ahead."

Allow the water to carry away exhaustion and self-doubt, leaving you refreshed and empowered for the season ahead.

Join Me for Summer Solstice Rituals on June 11

While the Solstice itself arrives later this month, we'll be gathering early to begin working with the energy of the season together.
